In detail
Adrian is an upstream oil and gas strategy expert with over 20 years of experience of boosting performance for the sector. He began his career at the International Energy Agency in Paris analysing the macroeconomics of oil and gas before moving into consultancy. In the world of performance improvement for oil and gas companies, there’s not much he hasn’t covered. He’s designed new operating models and processes, managed complex change programmes, and made assets more efficient for the biggest companies in the industry. Adrian joined Baringa in 2017 as a partner in our oil and gas team.
As the industry has evolved, Adrian’s challenges have shifted from how to clients improve asset operations to how to tackle climate change, adapt to the energy transition and plan asset strategies. Today he advises clients on how to improve energy efficiency, and whether and how to pivot their businesses towards renewable energy. As financial services firms face growing pressure to account for the carbon generated by their portfolio companies, Adrian helps clients to cut emissions and improve reporting to ensure that capital allocators understand the progress being made in the industry.
Approachable and collaborative, Adrian loves building teams that bring together the best of Baringa and client teams, and creating environments in which people can flourish. There’s no ‘template’ for the challenges his client’s face. Working closely with clients, he shapes detailed, bespoke solutions that deliver the most value for their specific challenge. Client-centric to the core, Adrian embodies integrity, investing himself and his team in client projects until they’ve uncovered ways to solve challenges for the good of all stakeholders.
Adrian lives in the Surrey countryside with his wife Claire, two teenage boys and two dogs. He walks and runs the local hills as often as he can, though these days admits that walking is the more common activity! He loves to ski in the Alps and has recently discovered a local lake where he and his son can wakeboard together. A keen electronic music fan, Adrian also dabbles in making his own tracks.
